We are dedicated to participate and contribute in the growth and development of your child physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. You have our assurance that we will do our best to make this a year that your child will always remember!

Maple Springs Preschool is enriched with children from diverse backgrounds.
We invite all to come and share in this blessed learning experience.

OUR MISSION

  • To provide an enriching experience in early childhood, designed to develop each child to his fullest potential.
  • To broaden your child's horizons by exposing them to the world of music, literature, art, science and social studies and to permit them to participate in activities that are developmentally appropriate for their age.
  • To provide an atmosphere of security in which your child will grow mentally, emotionally, socially and will gain inner self-discipline and discover a sense of self-worth and the meaning of Christian love.
  • To provide an education appropriate to the child’s age and stage of development in a Christian atmosphere where each child can feel secure, unhurried, happy and loved.

OUR HISTORY

Maple Springs Preschool has been serving the community since 1974. We have grown through the years along with the church. We moved into our new state-of-the-art facilities in 1996. We have excellent facilities, that include spacious classrooms as well as modern, fun playgrounds that meet State safety standards. We have enjoyed excellent recommendations from the surrounding community such as Wake Forest University and the elementary public schools. However, our best recommendations come from our parents to their friends and neighbors. Our enrollment consists of children from families that represent diverse ethnic backgrounds.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do children have to be potty trained to attend the 3-year-old class?
No, but we ask parents to bring the child in pull-ups until fully potty trained. In past experiences, the peer encouragement of the other children will quickly aid your child in becoming potty trained. Teachers offer children wearing pull-ups the opportunity to use the potty, and they will also change pull-ups during the training process.

How do you handle disciplinary actions that arise?
Maple Springs Preschool explains in detail the expected behavior of children. If a child needs further correction, teachers use a time out location and ask the child to think about the inappropriate behavior for a few minutes (i.e., 5 minutes). If a time out has not helped achieve proper behavior, the child is then sent to the Coordinator’s office to sit and further consider the inappropriate behavior. This is a rare occasion, but once there, children are reminded of all the fun they are missing and after a few minutes are generally ready to return to the class activities.

How long have the teachers and other staff been with the Preschool?
Most of the staff have been involved in preschool work for years and specifically employed at Maple Springs Preschool for at least 5 years. Many of the staff members have 10+ years tenure, and Maple Springs Preschool believes such long-term employment is due to the mutual respect among staff and ministry connection with attending children.

When should parents not bring a sick child?
The child must be symptom free of a fever or an upset stomach for at least 24 hours before coming to preschool. This benefits all the children and we are firm about implementing the policy.

Why does Maple Springs Preschool follow the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County (WS/FC) School Calendar?

Many of our staff members are mothers with children in school. When the WS/FC schools are closed, they need to be at home with their own children.
